Lust Have It : First box!

This week has been a somewhat exciting one as across the nation, girls who had signed up for their first Lust Have It boxes guarded their mailboxes, eager to know what was in the first ever beauty sample boxes that were winging their way across to them.

What is Lust have it? If you haven’t heard of them before, Lust Have It is a service that packs together samples from different brand ranging from skincare to makeup to haircare and sends them out to the beauty enthusiast in order for girls (and boys!) to sample products without buying full size items. It is a paid service with a monthly subscription fee.

Such services have been popping up like wild dandelions as of late, and it’s a little hard to decide which one to sign up for. Lust Have It won its way to my credit card by being the first service to open its door to public membership (no wait list, no invites!) and by being the first service to actually send boxes out. You snooze, you lose.

I received the first box yesterday! I adore how it was packed, absolutely beautiful packaging and you could just see the effort and thought that had gone into each boxes. Love it. But how about the contents?

I was delighted with having samples to play with, but as each box has to cater to such a wide audience, there are bounds to be disappointments in each box.

If you don’t want to know the exact content of the box, I suggest you stop reading now.

So what do we have here? All the contents of the box laid out, we have:

1. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
2. Bioeffect EGF serum
3. Mirenesse Lip Plumper
4. Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream
5. Armani Sport Code
6. Naked Tan – Goddess Bronzer

6 samples in total. I can see myself using the daily microfoliant, the bioeffect Serum, the lip plumper and the cuticle cream. I’m not big on perfumes and I definitely don’t need self tanning lotions. 4 out of 6 isn’t bad!

I ended up signing up for Beauty Box as well. I’m keen to compare and see how each beauty sample service rate. I love the idea of beauty samples to your mailbox every month but I’m not sure if it will be a long term commitment for me. We’ll just have to see if I’m happy with the month’s offerings!

Will review the above items at some point, I have a huge backlog of reviews!

What did you think? At $14.95 aud per box, is the box I just received worth it?

  1. Sakura says:

I think its worth it considering you can pay over that price for just one item at some places… at lease you get a bit of variety to test out new things.

  2. Melissa Loh says:

How large are the sample sizes?

  3. Little Jo says:

I am a huge lover of samples!! BUT I’ve never bought any and am probably too cheap to do so! lol but, I do love reading all the blog posts of the girls who have bought the sample boxes, looking forward to seeing next months :D

  4. Ooh, I HAVE recently heard about these little boxes! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain the nitty-gritty and show us what’s actually inside them! I think the price itself is great, but for me personally, I prooobably would only regularly use two of the products.

  5. glad I found out about this…. signed up after reading this! haha

any one know of any other good sites I could try that offer the same/similar service?
saves trying to get samples from department stores from pushy sales people who act like they have a carrot up some where the sun don’t shine (baha!)
