Hi! My name is Celeste and I am a freelance writer and editor for Becoming Beautiful.com. I am obsessed with makeup, skin care, inspirational and self-help.
Becoming Beautiful started as a blog to document my journey towards a better me. Growing up as a teen in a world where beauty is dictated by glossy magazines and gorgeous cookie-cutter models, it is not hard to feel ugly and utterly wretched about yourself. Thus the blog was born to guide myself and hopefully others towards accepting ourselves for who we are, and learning that Everybody can be beautiful.
I started blogging in 2003, where blogs were mainly personal and often kept fiercely private. I then proceeded to add on a craft blog that is now defunct. Following that, I started up a food blog and proceeded to add this beauty blog to my increasingly belt of blogging achievements while still keeping the original blog somewhat active (and still under lock and key.)
In 2009, I attended my first bloggers meetup and it was then I was first introduced to the social side of blogging. Many of the friends I met at that first meetup are still my friends now and many joyful memories have been made with them since then.
In 2010, I attended my first blogging conference and fell in love with the social aspect of blogging. When I first started blogging, there was definitely no such thing! Blogging was often a lonely affair, and it was always just you and your trusty computer. Since then, I have attended countless of blogging conferences and organised multiple meetups.
In 2011, a career move saw me visiting Adelaide on a regular basis. The lack of a blogging scene in Adelaide didn’t sit well with me, therefore I founded the Adelaide Beauty Blogger Meetups and also the very first Adelaide Beauty Conference.
In 2012, I continued to host the aforementioned events, but also joined the organising committee for Eat.Drink.Blog, a travelling food and wine blogging conference which was running for the 3rd year.
In 2013… who knows? A job fell into my lap, and not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I accepted it. Will my blogging suffer because of it? Hopefully not. The year is still young, so let’s see where it brings us, hey?
So..whether it’s for my love of fashion or love of beauty or just the pure passion I have for life that attracts you to this blog, I hope to hear from you.
