Remember this look?

I decided that I just had to try the one that looked the most-out-there first as I was feeling particularly adventurous yesterday. Plus, looking at the style cards just got me thinking of those Limecrime eyeliners I got an age ago. Experiment time? Why yes, sirree!

It just so happened that Sherry was around as well and there is nothing more relaxing than spending an afternoon with your girlfriend pretending to be makeup artists. She went for a more natural and effortlessly beautiful look, while me…. well. See for yourself.

I used:

  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette
  • LimeCrime Liquid Eyeliner in Citreuse and 6th Element
  • Tony Moly Liquid Black Eyeliner
  • False Lashes from Eylure (can’t remember which style)
  • Jane Iredale Purepressed Blush in Barely Rose
  • Innoxa Lovely Lips lipstick in Passionflower

Okay, granted, it is really quite different from the original inspiration. I actually think that this look is quite wearable if you left off the orange eyeliner from the bottom eye. What do you think? Would you try it?

If you’d like to try it, remember that there is a video tutorial that I have embedded above that can guide you through the step by step of the look. Truthfully, I didn’t follow it. I just went nuts on my face, as you can see.

I also didn’t use any foundation as… well… I really don’t use foundation or BB creams anymore. /lazy

Check out Be Winery! Wine provided for consideration, I was not paid to play with makeup. (Would be cool if I was!)

The Road to Confidence: [FOTD] Pink & Purple Wonderland

Sometimes, I wish I didn’t procrastinate so much. I’d achieve so much more if I weren’t such a master at procrastination.
Take this shot for example. I procrastinated so much at taking the photo that I missed out on natural light and out of the 100 photos or so taken in my terrible excuse of a bathroom, only one was deemed worthy enough to be put on the blog.

I kid you not.

You might remember the Fashion Wannabe Post that I did a few days ago. I showed you my dress, but not the look that went with it, so here it is!

Here’s what I used:

Bobbi Brown – BB Cream
Urban Decay – Primer Potion
Beauty Pro Cosmetics – Crazy Colour Palette
LimeCrime – Liquid Eyeliner in Quill (Black) and Lunar (White)
Physician Formula – Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Rose*
Ciccone Cosmetics – Voluptus*

For the newcomer to this blog, The Road to Confidence is my irregular series that shares a series of different makeup looks that I’ve come up with. It can range from the wild and crazy looks to the normal day-to-day wear and there is no real planning, no rhyme nor reason to what goes into this series. It’s just me, playing with makeup, trying to gain more skills and more confidence.

Haul: LimeCrime Liquid Eyeliners – blinding you with inspiration.

Liquid eyeliners!! Really, if you don’t know by now what my addiction is, you haven’t been reading long enough or paying attention to the blog at all.

You would remember that I’m on a one year long cosmetic ban this year. It’s about 7 months into my ban and I’m not doing too badly. I did slip up right near the beginning of my ban, and picked up 2 bottles of nail polish from Face of Australia. But after that, I’ve been good.

Then LimeCrime went and release their liquid eyeliners. Not one, not two, but a whole range of different colours, all bright, all beautiful and all so goddamn gorgeous. But liquid eyeliners are also cosmetics. I couldn’t buy it.

After angsting over it for a while, I decided that I wouldn’t get it. I didn’t want to break my ban.

Given the title of the post, I think you already know what happened next.

I like to think that technically, I didn’t break the ban. I picked them as my reward for finally finishing term 2 reports at work. (If you haven’t written a school report before, you have never known the meaning of hell.) I was tossing up between a new bag and these eyeliners, and very nearly went with the bag. But the boy very pointedly mentioned that the chances of me using the eyeliners were a lot higher than the bag, and if there’s nothing else that will sway me more, it’d be the higher probability of actual usage. (I like to be practical)

So, really, that was a very long-winded story to say, hello! I bought the amazing liquid eyeliners from LimeCrime!

I will post up a swatch post soon. I don’t normally like doing swatch posts, but these are too awesome not to share. I’m real keen to do a FOTD post with them too, so lots of exciting things coming out from these liquid eyeliners. I mean, just look at them and their gorgeous colours, how can you not be inspired?

The Road to Confidence: Harajuku Girl

What is the road to confidence?

For you, the road might be very different to the one I take.

The road to confidence is a rocky one. There are many ways to get there but no matter which way you choose, it will definitely be long and rocky. My journey with makeup so far has taught me that makeup can be one of the keys to getting to the end destination. So I decided that in order to move myself along that journey, I will try as many different looks as possible in order to find who I am. And I am documenting my every step, so that you may come with me on this journey along my road to confidence.

Never in a million years would I think of using so many colours together and at once on the one face. And for colour to go beyond the lids and eyebrows, that’s just crazy talk! Or is it?

I was convinced (and still am) that I can’t pull off that colour lippie. Frosty colours don’t do well on my skintone! So I went with a lighter shade for my base, and toned down the frosty pink with Lancome’s juicy tube. I think I just barely pulled it off.

I don’t love this look as much as last week’s but it was a lot of fun doing it! It was almost akin to painting a mask on yourself – very interesting. Oh well. At least now I’ve satisfied my curiosity. Will try a new look next week!

Please do tell me what you think of this one!
